Common misconception
Pupils panic when there is a defender and kick/strike/throw the ball away quickly to prevent the defender getting too close to them.
Explain that if we panic, we will probably lose possession in a game. Encourage pupils to take their time. Bring in walking defenders instead to slow the game down.
