Common misconception
Pupils may assume that any number is equal to an exact number of number rods.
There is a focus on multiples of numbers, especially multiples of 2, 5 and 10 in the lesson, but there is an example of a division calculation with a remainder in the first cycle to help pupils become familiar with this concept.
