Key learning points
- Regularly revisiting SSCs supports accurate spelling and pronunciation, building confidence.
- To form the perfect tense with -er verbs, use the present tense of ‘avoir’ and a past participle ending in 'é'.
- ‘Which’ agrees with the gender and number of the noun it describes; 'quel', 'quelle', 'quels' and 'quelles'.
- The preposition 'à' follows 'jouer' with sports, 'de' follows 'jouer' with musical instruments and 'faire' with sports.
- To make job nouns feminine, add -e, change the spelling from -eur to -rice/euse, or just change the article..
Common misconception
Only change your main verb into a past verb in French like we can do in English to form the past tense, e.g. I do → I did.
In French you need two verbs in the perfect tense for it to make sense; the correct part of 'avoir' and the past participle.
