Sometimes these letters get reversed.
Emphasise the starting position and direction for each letter. You could use 'landmarks' in your classroom, such as "Start by the window."
Continuous movement - the smooth movement made when writing without lifting the pencil from the paper
Vertical line - a straight line that goes up and down
