Common misconception
Pupils may be unfamiliar with some elements of the story, such as 'yams' and names of the Cousins.
When reading the story, gloss over key vocabulary and supplement with images or use of the illustrations where necessary. You can also use some of the explanation and check slides as you are reading to support their understanding further.
